The Power of First Impressions.

As the saying goes, you never get a second chance to make a first impression. This is especially true in the business world, where your headshot can be the first thing a potential employer or client sees. A professional headshot can convey confidence, competence, and approachability, all important qualities in any industry. By investing in a headshot photographer, you can ensure that your first impression is a positive one.

A good headshot should say something about who you are and what your business means. It should be an  representation of how you look at work, but also show a side of your personality. Being authentic is everything these days.

If you need a headshot for business purposes, it is important to find a photographer who specialises in this type of photography.  Corporate Headshots are not your typical portraits, they need to convey trust and professionalism.   If you are a business owner, it's important to have a headshot that can be used on different platforms like your website, social media, and marketing channels. A good headshot photographer can make a difference in how you're perceived by potential customers but also how you feel about yourself!

here are a few things to keep in mind when you're having your headshots taken:

First, it's important to relax and be yourself. The more natural you look, the better.

Second, dress in clothing that makes you feel confident and reflects your personal brand.

Third , make sure to choose a photographer who you feel comfortable with and who will help you capture the best version of yourself.

With these tips in mind, you're sure to end up with a headshot that you're proud of and that represents your business in the best way possible.

The Process :

Once you decide to book in with me for your Headshot , please fill in the details on my Contact page so I have all the information required.  I will then get in touch with you either by phone or email to discuss further details :

LOCATION :

The first thing to decide is location. Will this be an outdoor location or studio style shoot? (I can bring the studio to you).

TIME OF SHOOT :

Choosing the right time of day is important if shooting an environmental headshot. Harsh sunlight in the middle of the day makes for dark shadows and squinting subjects. There are ways around this of course, however a much better time before work in the morning or late afternoon.

ATTIRE :

I have a blog post on this topic HERE. Whilst picking an outfit colour, it is a good idea to keep your industry in mind.  Do you need to look conservative? If so a traditional approach to colour (black, navy, white, grey) would be advisable. That being said, if the goal of your corporate headshot is to stand out in a conservative environment, going against the grain with bright, punchy colours like reds, greens and yellows. Tie's are a great way of showing some individuality and a pop of colour to monotone suits. Avoid patterns or busy slogans unless you are an actor of musician.

STYLE GUIDE:

What is your company style guide? It's always crucial that you check if your company or brand has a specific set of rules that the photos need to adhere to. This is especially important if you work in the Real Estate industry or for a large brand. I'm used to working within brand guidelines to ensure you don't get any rejected images from the marketing team or CRM platform you are working with.

HAVE FUN AND TRY TO RELAX :

Having your photo taken can be stressful for some people. My aim to make you relax and be yourself. It may take a few minutes to get into the groove of the shoot. I will pose you to make you look your best, I always aim to make the photoshoot fun and lighthearted.

GALLERY AND PHOTO SELECTION :

Once we have completed the photoshoot I will deliver around 30 of the best unedited images in a gallery for you to select from, this takes 3 working days. Generally you get 3 images to select from depending on the package you select. Once you have made your selection/s I will then retouch them and deliver high res versions for you to download, final images are delivered within 5 working days. In a rush? I can speed up delivery time for a fee.
